Econo Foods is the leading food service provider in the Free State, Northern Cape, Gauteng, and North West regions of South Africa, specialising in frozen foods and chilled products. Their workforce of 1,300 warehouse, transport and retail employees collectively serve their 3 million customers across the country. Econo Foods was looking for a communication tool to align with their company culture & communication strategy when they discovered Jem at CHRO’s HR Indaba.

  • Econo Foods was struggling to communicate with their frontline employees. They were using notice boards and emails to communicate critical information across 30+ different locations, which proved ineffective. They were also manually distributing printed payslips to their employees, a process that was costing them R30,000 per year and 4 hours of their HR teams’ time per month.
